How Many Home Users Have Broadband (And Why You Should Care)

Story:

High-speed Internet adoption at home continues to rise sharply in the United States, increasing by 50% from March 2002 to March 2003. As of the end of March 2003, 31% of home Internet users had a high-speed connection at home, up from 21% in March 2002. Approximately 30 million people (16% of all Americans) log on at home with a broadband connection.

Analysis:

Why do you care? First of all, studies have shown that people with broadband spend more time on the Internet in the course of a given month, and look at more pages while they are on. All of this is good news for companies that advertise their products and services on the Internet.
