Take Advantage Of The Power Of Microsites
Microsites are small web sites of less than a dozen pages that inform customers about a particular product, service or event. This short article by Martin Lindstrom gives some good reasons for creating a small site-within-a-site:
- It will show up on search engines as being more specific
- Customers don't want to find a page that gives one sentence about everything; they want to find a whole page about the topic they are interested in.
It is more work to create microsites than to simply squeeze every product and service offering into whatever template you've been using. However, a well-done microsite can get more visitor traffic from search engines and can (potentially) give your customer the sense that they have come to a specific site you created just for them. Their satisfaction with your microsite will carry over onto your brand.
