Based on data collected in a survey of website executives conducted by ActivMedia Research, business-to-business revenues are expected to triple in 2001 to $263 billion.
The survey also reveals that 55% of B2B websites attempt to generate sales indirectly from their sites, using marketing but not actual ecommerce. Thirty-two percent of B2B sites generate sales at their site.
Web managers of B2B sites spend half of their total site design and operational budgets to ongoing site development. After three years, online business designs are found to stabilize, and budgets are reduced.
