Most US Online Buyers Willing To Provide Personal Information


In a recent press release, Jupiter Media Metrix revealed results of a consumer survey focusing on consumer willingness to part with information online.

  • 70% of consumers register to receive e-mail for new products and special offers
  • 68% register prior to making a purchase
  • 50% register to store personal information on a site
  • 41% register to receive physical mail.
85% of online buyers say they are very or somewhat more likely to return to a site after receiving e-mail from a retailer.
